Amman, August 15, 2010

The number of internet WiMAX connections in Jordan has risen from 9.6 per cent in October 2008 to 14.3 per cent by mid-2010, according to a new survey by Arab Advisors Group.

Arab Advisors Group is a leading provider of research, analysis and forecasts of Arab communications, media, technology and financial markets.

The 'Jordan Internet Users and E-commerce Survey 2010,' conducted by the Arab Advisors Group, provides the results of a major comprehensive online survey of Internet users in Jordan.

The survey gives important insights into the Jordanian telecom and broadband market. It probed the patterns and trends of Internet use in Jordan including, online and video gaming, mobile Internet, e- commerce, e-banking and e-government.

The survey’s field work was conducted between May and August this year.

Respondents were randomly targeted by receiving an email shot in their inbox utilizing multiple reputable mailing-list operators in Jordan, said the company.

Moreover, leaflets were distributed randomly in some schools and universities, Arab Advisors Group said in a statement.

The survey results encompass answers from over 1,000 respondents that passed rigorous quality control checks conducted by the team, it noted.

The survey was carried out on the general Internet population. The online survey yields a confidence level of 99 per cent with a margin of error of less than 4 per cent, the Arab Advisors Group added.-TradeArabia News Service
