FiCall inks deal for 10m call licenses

FiCall, the leading provider of voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) services, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with UK-based Center Group Global, to sell 10 million subscription licenses of FiCall services.

As per the MoU, the 10 million licenses are part of the first phase of the partnership, which continues in the second phase starting in 2011. The second phase includes a purchase of another five million new licenses, which raise the total amount of the deal to $120 million.

This offers Center Group, the capacity to provide its global subscribers free FiCall services, which include subscription license for Voice Call services, video calls, SMS, MMS, chat and live iPTV broadcasting of over 25 TV stations.

“The MoU reflects an increase in demand for international VoIP services. This is coherent with the global trend of increasing telecom services, brought about, through innovative solutions and new services with the highest levels of quality at reduced costs,” said Prince Abdelaziz Bin Meshaal Bin Abdelaziz Al Saud, chairman of FiCall.

There has been huge growth in the VoIP industry touch 179 per cent within the last decade. This growth indicates global demand on the VoIP service. Subsequently, VoIP technology has also proved to be a major economical substitute to fixed and mobile markets.

Faisal Almhairat, chief executive officer of FiCall, said: “The MoU falls under the global expansion strategy of FiCall in order to strengthen its global presence. We also want to offers our global market customers’ innovative services with a competitive pricing policy.”

“The partnership with FiCall will add an extra value to Center Group’s global VoIP offerings and provide us a competitive advantage in the market,” said Ayub Khan, deputy chief executive officer (CEO) of Center Group.
