Dell backs major Qatar ICT event

Dubai, May 24, 2011

Dell, as gold sponsor in partnership with Intel, is taking part in a major information and communication technology conference and exhibition which opened today (May 24) in Doha.

Organised by ictQATAR, Qitcom 2011 will run up to May 26 at the Doha Exhibition Center.

The event aims to position Qatar as a regional hub for technology and innovation, including acting as a forum for industry leaders to discover suitable technologies as well as act as a local platform for international players to enter the GCC markets.

The event will feature a three-day schedule of workshops covering a diverse range of topics from the localization of online content and local entrepreneurial case studies to more global issues of ICT across e-government and broadband legislation.

Investors, C-level managers, developers and IT network professionals are expected to share knowledge and experience across the industry.

Qitcom has created an awards program that will take place during the closing ceremony of the event.

The awards will span the following categories: innovation, deployment and services, adoption, e-services and accessibility.

“We are working with leaders in ICT across the region to deliver open, capable and affordable solutions that enable our customers both locally and internationally to develop their IT systems to a higher and more efficient level,” said Basil Ayass, enterprise product manager for Dell Middle East.

“Dell is in a prime position right now where we are at the cutting edge of technology and experience on a daily basis exactly what our customers want their systems to do.”

“Qitcom will allow us to learn from and educate new and existing customers, and ultimately allow them to take full advantage of the latest technologies. This helps them focus on innovation and business success with minimum technological effort,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
