Nawras slashes plug and play modems rates

Muscat, October 2, 2011

Nawras, a leading telecom operator in Oman, said it has slashed the prices of its plug-and-play mobile internet modems and router to enable more customers to start enjoying its services.

As per the new offer, customers can now buy an E173 modem from as little as RO15 ($39) including a Nawras Ajel postpaid SIM-card, the company said in a statement.

Nawras, a member of the Qatar telecom group, said with this offer small businesses and even large families can benefit from the lower priced B260a router which enables up to 32 customers to enjoy an internet connection at the same time, through the one unit.

The B260a router is an easy and convenient way for multiple customers to get Wi-Fi internet access at the same time.

Featuring an easy plug and play option, the router comes with a free desktop antenna designed to boost coverage. The router includes a free Nawras Ajel post paid SIM-card and a telephone port.

When choosing to surf in style with the pink or white E173 modem, customers will receive a free Nawras Ajel postpaid SIM card and a lanyard too, said the statement.

Alternatively, if a Nawras Mousbak prepaid option is preferred, this can be purchased separately and the easy-to-use USSD application can be used for balance checking as well as recharge.

Prepaid customers can subscribe to any prepaid broadband internet bundle directly from the modem software.

While single customers might choose the E173 modem, the E5 II at RO40 allows customers to conveniently set up their own Wi-Fi internet spot for up to five people, said a senior official.

'This is ideally suited for a group of colleagues or students working in one location, for example. The E5 II modem can be connected to a phone, tablet or laptop at any location and features a Micro SD card slot, SMS and USSD services,' explained Shadli Al-Abdusalam, Nawras section head VAS.

According to him, Nawras always offers the latest technology and value for money.

'Following the recent introduction of lower prices for mobile internet bundles we are now making it even easier for more customers to start enjoying pleasingly different internet services from Nawras,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
