Avaya to set up regional training hub in Dubai

Dubai, October 17, 2012

Avaya has announced plans to open its new training centre for the Middle East, Africa and Turkey region at Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park in the UAE.

A leading global provider of next-generation business collaboration and communications solutions, Avaya said the dedicated training centre will feature its latest video and networking products, which address the challenges businesses face in delivering superior customer sales and service experiences in a multimedia world.

Partners and enterprises from the MEA, Africa and Turkey region will be able to use the facility to boost their knowledge of Avaya video and midmarket technologies, while obtaining industry certifications on new communications solutions, it added.

"Avaya has been one of our main partners since the inception of DSO. This deal is yet another testimony of the strategic role the IT park plays in attracting high-end technology players," remarked Dr Juma Almatrooshi, the executive VP (Commercial) of Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority after signing the deal with Nidal Abou-Ltaif, VP of Avaya (MEA and Turkey) at Gitex.

The signing ceremony was held at the DSOA pavilion in the presence of Dr Mohamed Al Zarooni, the vice chairman and CEO of DSOA and Michael Bayer, president EMEA, Avaya.

"It also validates our role as an active partner to all companies operating out of DSO," remarked Dr Almatrooshi.

“We are confident that this training center will allow industry professionals to benefit from Avaya’s presence in the technology park while gaining from their latest industry solutions,” he added.

Abou-Ltaif pointed out that DSO, being the region’s primary hub for technology innovation, was the ideal location for Avaya’s training facility.

"We will enhance the training center in the coming years as demand for the latest video and networking solutions in the region continues to increase. As Avaya technology is widely used by tenants of DSOA, the launch of this centre delivers considerable value for both organisations,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
