The contract was signed during Mobile World Congress 2013 – a major event for the telecommunications industry taking place in Barcelona – at FC Barcelona’s stadium, Camp Nou, by Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar, the CEO of the Etisalat Group and Sandro Rosell, FC Barcelona’s president.

“They are pioneers in telecom services in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, and this will allow FC Barcelona to strengthen the connection with and feel closer to our fans in these territories,” Rosell said. “It will also help to share the FCB feeling there as well as letting us grow in social and economic terms.”

“Today football is the most popular game in the UAE and playing a significant role in the lives of youth today. Barcelona FC is one of the most prominent football clubs globally with a record number of championships. Etisalat’s renewal of the contract with Barcelona FC restates our values focused on excellence, ambition and creativity.
