TRA unveils mGov training programme

Abu Dhabi, October 27, 2013

UAE’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has launched an extensive mobile government training programme for over 2,000 individuals across 153 government agencies.

The training, which was unveiled during Gitex 2013, will be delivered through several modules covering domains, including creating new government processes with mobile, or enabling existing one through mobile; mobile application design and architecture; mobile application quality assurance; and mobile process fraud prevention, said a TRA statement.

“Gitex is the perfect opportunity to share our mgovernment training progress with government technologists, the private sector and other key influencers from the UAE and abroad. The event welcomed over 139,000 ICT professionals from 144 countries of the top ICT brands worldwide,” said its director general Mohamed Naser Al Ghanim.

“By customising training channels for each stakeholder and focusing on delivering increased efficiency and transparency, our training strongly supports our leaders’ vision to unite the nation through knowledge, within the seven emirates but also across our national borders," he said.

"A strong part of the training will focus on how to serve citizens and visitors in a highly satisfactory way, regardless of the location of the user or the timeframe of the service request,” he said.

“By improving convenience, facilitating better cross-department collaboration and allowing faster workflows, the training scheme aims to bring an increased efficiency that will reinforce the already stellar cyber reputation of the UAE,” Al Ghanim added.

The mgovernment training programme will benefit public servants by focusing on designing quality services and consistently identifying the best mobile technologies to meet citizens’ demands, said the statement.

The trainings will also enhance the understanding of mgovernment among citizens by clarifying their expectations and involving students, considered as the nation’s future technologists and policy makers, it said. - TradeArabia News Service
