KeyBS plans GCC-wide expansion

Dubai, May 5, 2014

KeyBS, a UAE-based leading systems integrator and technology provider, plans to roll out its innovative payment and mobile top-up kiosks and POS solutions across the GCC in over 1,000 locations this year.

The kiosks and POS machines are already present in 450 locations in the GCC,a statement said.

The kiosks and POS machines provide users with vouchers to top-up their mobile credit for use in their country of residence or send it to an international mobile covering a network of 300 operators worldwide, said the statement.

Additionally, the vouchers are used to make payments like utilities, mobile bills and air tickets in a very easy and convenient way from any retail shop where KeyBS machines are located, it said.

The kiosks, which are branded “KeyKiosk” plus the POS which are branded “KeyPOS” are used by both retail shops and exchange houses across the GCC. KeyPOS innovation is embedded in its offline mode technology which requires no connectivity to the main server and functions independently even when the network is disconnected.

KeyBS is currently rolling-out its technology across the GCC; with 400 POS machines and 200 Kiosk machines expected to be distributed across the Qatari market, 60 kiosks and 50 POS in Kuwait and 100 agents in Saudi Arabia by the end of 2014. As for the UAE Market, the target is to reach 300 locations for both kiosks and POS, said Ibrahim Darraz, KeyBS managing director.

“The UAE and GCC market is growing steadily and demand for comprehensive automated solutions is in demand. We are delighted to make this announcement which is testament to the strength of our technology. We are confident that our ‘go-to-market strategy’ will empower retailers to use our easy to install and operate kiosk & POS machines, providing them with a wider customer base. This will include large scale retailers as well as smaller traders with minimal internet connectivity for kiosk or even no internet connectivity. Our POS machines work in both online and/or offline modes.”

KeyBS solutions will not only provide retailers with new revenue streams but will also offer UAE customers with a much needed and value-added service. KeyKiosk machines cater for the growing demand from mobile users for convenient and secure mobile related services plus the wide range of other payment services and very soon money remittance will be available in our kiosks too, he said.

KeyBS, a member of Kuwait’s Al Arabi Group, plans to introduce additional state-of-the-art solutions as part of a comprehensive expansion strategy. - TradeArabia News Service
