King & Spalding adds to ME team

Dubai, April 21, 2010

King & Spalding, a leading international law firm, has expanded its presence in the Middle East by adding two senior lawyers as counsel: Timothy Burbury in Abu Dhabi and Leroy Levy in Dubai.

Prior to joining King & Spalding, Burbury led the construction and infrastructure practice of DLA Piper in Abu Dhabi. Most recently, he has advised the Tourism Development & Investment Company, Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company, Mubadala Development Company and Mubadala Infrastructure Partners on a number of projects in the Middle East.

Burbury received a combined Bachelors of Commerce and Law (LLB) with honours from the University of Tasmania and a Graduate Diploma in Construction Law from the University of Melbourne.

Levy, an infrastructure lawyer, joins King & Spalding from Trowers & Hamlins. He has over 10 years’ experience representing clients in the Saudi Arabia and has worked on a number of innovative and groundbreaking deals. His experience includes power and water, petrochemicals, industrial cities and all forms of process plants.

Much of his work involves project finance and a substantial part of that includes Islamic finance.

Levy received his Bachelors of Law (LLB) with honours from Queen May College, University of London, England, and his MSC in construction law and arbitration from King’s College, University of London.
