Sharjah, January 13, 2013

Sharjah-based Air Arabia, a leading low-cost carrier in the region, has signed a MoU with the UAE National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA), the federal organisation responsible for coordinating the national response to emergencies and crises.

As per the agreement, Air Arabia will provide the federal body with all support needed in implementing its strategies and plans. The two organisations will also establish a joint working group to develop procedures that support efforts taken by the NCEMA.

The signing ceremony was attended by Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammad Al Thani, the chairman of Air Arabia, and Mohamed Khalfan Matar Al Romaithi, the director general, NCEMA, in addition to members from both organisations.

At the signing ceremony, both Sheikh Al Thani and Al Romaithi stressed the importance of this partnership and the support that Air Arabia will provide to the vital work of the federal organisation in achieving its objective.

The NCEMA is the major national standard-setting body responsible for regulating and co-ordinating all emergency and crisis management efforts, as well as the development of a national plan for responding to emergencies.

Its work is focused mainly in the development, consolidation and maintenance of laws, policies and procedures of emergency and crisis management at the national level.-TradeArabia News Service
