Bahrain defers plan to split medical services

Manama, March 25, 2013

A decision to separate public and private medical practices in Bahrain has been shelved for more scrutiny, a report said.

HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa directed officials to defer the measure as he chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting yesterday, according the report in our sister publication, the Gulf Daily News.

He also tasked them to scrutinise the scheme to ensure its viability for Bahrain's health sector.

The moratorium will give the Civil Service Bureau more time to finalise the allowance scale for consultant doctors and ensure a "flexible and fair" severance. – TradeArabia News Service
