Dubai updates mPay smartphone app

Dubai Smart Government (DSG) Department has updated its mPay app, which offers instant payment of government bills and fines through smartphones.

The app, which was launched in November last year, is part of the smart government initiative of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said a statement.

“This mPay app is an effective channel to enable our customers to access government services through their smartphones. We have developed this app with extensive support and cooperation of our government partners to provide a convenient package of utility and bill payments,” said Ahmad Bin Humaidan, director general of DSG.

The service has been completely restructured to be compatible with smart phone requirements in terms of speed and smooth provision and use of services, said Humaidan.

“Our customers can download the mPay app from the Apple app or Google Play store and then customise it in a few steps for payment of Dubai Police fines, Dewa and Etisalat bills, RTA’s Salik & Nol services,” he added.

The updated app allows easy registration and includes a guide and FAQ section to help new customers, said the statement.

The mPay website and app together have over 26,000 users and also allows additional payment services to be made including social services such a donations to Dubai Cares and Al Jalila, besides auto-payment and multiple account features, it said. - TradeArabia News Service
