Bahrain steps up anti-terror drive

Manama, December 31, 2013

Bahrain yesterday (December 30) stepped up its war on terrorists, vowing to do all it takes to maintain security and stability with the Premier directing security authorities to track down terror groups.

HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa also instructed the Interior Ministry to beef up security and enforce the law on terrorists, according to a report in the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

He gave instructions to launch an inquiry into the way weapons and explosives entered Bahrain.

He hailed security agencies for busting a bomb factory in Quraya village and arresting terrorists before they could escape abroad.

He said that Bahrain would have suffered massive losses in lives and property if terrorists had used the explosives.

"The heinous plot reveals the nature of the evil-minded terror groups who are adamant on subverting security, terrorising innocent people and damaging property," he said.

The Premier said it is deplorable that the terror groups plotting against Bahrain are also the ones who profess reform and peacefulness.

"Their evil acts speak volumes about their true nature, being mere tools serving foreign agendas in their homeland," he said. – TradeArabia News Service
