Bahrain calls GCC to speak out against terrorists

Manama, January 6, 2014

Bahrain yesterday called on the GCC to speak out strongly against terrorists, stressing the kingdom's resolve to stop them from spreading violence and hatred.

"There is no justification for violence and those who support it will have to face the consequences," the Cabinet heard, reported the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The call came as His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.

The Cabinet thanked friendly countries that condemned the recent events threatening Bahrain's safety and security.

"Such terrorist acts are not only aimed at Bahrain but also the other GCC countries, and only a united front can thwart their evil designs."

The Cabinet praised the Interior Ministry for foiling terrorist plots and smuggling operations, condemning recent attempts to undermine the kingdom's security and vowed to take a strong stand against terrorism. - TradeArabia News Service
