Bahrain opens labour dispute resolution centre

Manama, February 7, 2014

A labour dispute resolution centre was launched yesterday in Bahrain in bid to address labour issues and complaints in the kingdom.

Labour Minister Jameel Humaidan opened the new facility and an arbitration and labour consultancy section.

“The new facilities follow directives from HRH the Prime Minister,” he said, as he toured the premises. He stressed the importance of the facilities in streamlining government services.

The premises have been designed taking into account the privacy of arbitrators who seek to clarify bylaws and binding obligations for parties and address complaints filed by domestic helpers or their sponsors. Contentious cases will be referred to the courts, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
