Bahrain, Britain join hands against terror

Bahrain's Premier has stressed the importance of Bahraini-British co-operation in combating terrorism.
 
He called for the need to continue enhancing bilateral co-operation in the political, trade and diplomatic fields, stressing the importance of easing visa procedures for Bahrainis to enter Britain in order to boost rapprochement between the two countries, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
 
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa made his remarks as he received British Ambassador Iain Lindsay at Gudaibiya Palace.
 
The Premier said that the long-standing Bahraini-British relations have reflected positively on bilateral co-operation at all levels.
 
He affirmed the kingdom's desire to always maintain the advanced level of its ties with Britain and ensure that joint co-operation grows steadily, praising the role played by British experts in Bahrain and their contribution to its development march.
 
The meeting also touched upon regional and global issues of mutual concern.
 
Lindsay expressed his country's full support for measures taken by the government to counter terrorism and safeguard its security and stability, and keenness to enhance co-operation with Bahrain on whatever strengthens its security and stability.
 
He thanked the government, led by HRH the Premier, for its support for boosting British-Bahraini relations of friendship and co-operation.
 
He informed the Premier about the UK government's future policies and plans to open up new horizons of co-operation with GCC countries, particularly Bahrain. - TradeArabia News Service
