Joint Arab action must says Bahrain

Kuwait City, March 26, 2014

This year's Arab Summit is being held at a critical time, said His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Bahrain's Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.

Declaring that the Arab nation is on the verge of major transformation, he said joint action and mutual co-operation will propel it forward, reported the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

Collaboration among Arab states is key to the region's social and economic development, he said, adding that facilitating means of collaboration and co-ordination will help enable the Arab League to tackle regional challenges and ensure stability in the region.

The Crown Prince yesterday attended the opening session of the 25th Arab League Summit at Al Bayan Palace on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad.

This year's summit reflects Kuwait's pivotal role in promoting solidarity among Arab states, he said, emphasising that Bahrain's participation underscores its commitment to strengthen joint action across the region.

The Crown Prince said that the summit presents a significant opportunity for member states to discuss important developments across the region - particularly security and political challenges.

The Crown Prince stressed that the Arab League's decision to establish an Arab Court of Human Rights in Bahrain, an initiative launched by His Majesty, demonstrates Bahrain's commitment to contribute to the development of the region and protect the rights of its people.

He called on Arab states to join the Arab Stock Exchange currently being set up in Bahrain following the Arab League's decision at the 2013 summit.

The exchange will serve as a business platform conducive to enhancing trade and economic ties across the Arab states, he said. - TradeArabia News Service
