Bahrain slashes fees for the over 60s

In a significant move, Bahrain government has decided to slash fees for passport, car registration and driving licence by half for those over 60 years of age.
This follows a Cabinet decision, and Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa has directed the relevant divisions, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
Bahrainis with an ID and the card for the elderly, issued by the Social Development Ministry, will benefit from the reduction, but it will cover only one vehicle of each elderly person if he or she owns more than one.
The reduction doesn't cover delay fees for not renewing vehicle registration or driving licences on time, or the issuing or renewing of other licences. - TradeArabia News Service
