$163m fine for Emirati woman!

An Abu Dhabi court has imposed a fine of Dh600 million ($163.33 million) on an Emirati woman after she was convicted of embezzling public funds and forging documents while working for a government department, an Emirates 24/7 report said.

The appeals court also sentenced the woman to three years in prison, the report on Emirates 24/7 website said.

The woman faced charges including embezzlement, misappropriation of public funds, forgery of documents, deliberately harming the interests of a public department and illegally obtaining commission, the report said.
