Bahrain plans new round-the-clock cleaning firm

Manama, August 5, 2014

Talks have been held on appointing a new cleaning company responsible for the entire kingdom of Bahrain.

Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa chaired a meeting yesterday, which was attended by Municipalities and Urban Planning Affairs Minister Dr Juma Al Ka'abi and other officials to explore options, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The meeting discussed the anticipated tender to name a qualified, experienced international cleaning firm capable of working 24/7 across the country.

Difficulties facing the ministry regarding construction waste removal, its legal and security aspects and penalties on violators were also discussed.

The meeting considered expanding the capacity of Southern Governorate's waste dumping grounds to help remove waste and construction debris round-the-clock.

Shaikh Khalid urged the ministry to co-operate more with all the relevant departments and called for the intensification of public awareness and media campaigns. - TradeArabia News Service
