Orbit launched on IRDETO platform

Orbit Communications Company, the leading Pay-TV network in the Middle East and North Africa, has adopted the IRDETO conditional access system in addition to its current Nagra based proprietary platform.

This new strategic move combined with Orbit’s competitive pricing will now make Orbit within easy reach of millions of households in the Mena region. For the first time ever, Orbit can now be watched on the same satellite receivers as all other satellite pay-TV networks in the Mena region, said an official spokesman.
 
To enjoy Orbit’s programming the majority of subscribers will only need a Smart Card based subscription which is now available throughout the region from Orbit’s own network of showrooms and authorized dealers.

Orbit will initially launch five packages onto the Irdeto platform including the popular Super Mega which is by far the most comprehensive and complete Pay-TV package in the Middle East and North Africa with 54 channels offering the widest exclusive range of Arabic and Western Entertainment.

Super Prime, a package that includes all of Orbit’s Western Entertainment Channels.

Family, a dedicated package offering the widest range of safe-viewing entertainment targeting all members of the family.

Pinoy Plus, a package dedicated to the Filipino community offering a number of Western channels and three leading Filipino channels including the famous and popular GMA7 and finally Kids, by far the most comprehensive kids package dedicated to offering kids in the region, the widest range of educational, Kids entertainment and sports programming in the Mena region.
