Qatar Expo Event Management (Qatar Expo) and Dubai-based Epoc Messe Frankfurt, a top exhibition management company, will partner in organising a major international furniture and design exhibition in Doha.

The ninth International Furniture and Design Exhibition and Awards (INFDEX 2010) will be held from November 10 to 13 at Doha Exhibition Centre.

The event, which is Qatar’s only major interior design and furniture expo, is expected to attract an expected 30,000 trade and public visitors, a statement said.

'Here in the GCC there is a tremendous focus, by international and regional companies, on discovering and nurturing new business opportunities,' said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO, Epoc Messe Frankfurt.

“This new venture is our first step into the Qatar market which is a very attractive place to do business.  We are very excited about the potential growth here and look forward to doing business in this amazing city,” Pauwels added.

'This arrangement will capitalise on the expertise and experience of both companies to maximize business opportunities for the interior design industry and companies exhibiting at INFDEX 2010.”

INFDEX 2010 also looks to increase the 3000 new design ideas and 140 exhibitors from INFDEX 2009, the statement said.

“There is tremendous synergy in this collaboration,” said Qatar Expo CEO Karim Zarka.

“Qatar Expo has already established itself as an international event organiser based in Qatar and has the support of local organisations and associations,” he added.

For the third year in a row, INFDEX 2010 will host the finals of the prestigious student design award, the INFDEX Best Young Designer Award sponsored once again by Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company. – TradeArabia News Service
