The first Kuwait Environment, Water and Energy Exhibition (KEWE) will be held in October, said the organisers.

Oman International Trade and Exhibitions (OITE) and Kuwait International Fair (KIF) will hold the event from October 3 to 5 at the International Fairs Ground, Mishref.

A spin-off of Oman’s Gulf Eco Expo, KEWE is set to attract the biggest names in Kuwait’s environment sector focusing on environment, water and clean energy, a statement said.

Themed “Moving towards a sustainable future”, KEWE will hold a two-day conference on October 3 and 4 at the Kuwait International Exhibition Centre.

KEWE Conference 2010 is aimed to provide a platform for stakeholders, policy-makers, researchers, academia and leaders in the business community to discuss various challenges, issues and opportunities concerning Kuwait’s present environment.

“KEWE will gather together top decision makers in Kuwait and across the region to forge cooperation and identify the environment problems, innovative solutions and enhance public awareness on the region’s environmental and climate change issues and challenges,” said Sherwin Sevillena, senior manager – research and development and conference manager of OITE.

KEWE is set to provide organisations with an opportunity to demonstrate their commitment towards environment and climate responsibility.

The expo will offer opportunities to showcase products and services related to environmental protection and monitoring such as advance warning systems, recycling systems and technological solutions.

KEWE will also present solid waste management, and solutions to manage and preserve water resources and technology solutions such as water treatment, water examination and quality control, among others.
