Adihex to showcase 500 weaponry brands

Abu Dhabi, September 20, 2010

Over 500 global brands in weaponry and equipment manufacturing from 30 countries will be showcasing their latest products at the upcoming Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (Adihex) 2010.

Abu Dhabi’s annual flagship cultural event, Adihex, which runs from September 22 to 25, will bring together companies active in hunting, safari, weaponry, falconry, equestrian and outdoor sporting equipment and technologies, said the event organisers.

Adihex is dedicated to bringing alive UAE’s deep rooted traditions in unmatched synergy of cultural heritage, environment conservation and modern technology, said Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Adihex event director and director of communication department at Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage.

In a validation of the event’s continuing success in attracting VIP visitors and connoisseurs of hunting and weaponry, over 75 per cent of exhibitors from the 2009 edition have rebooked for this year’s event, he noted.

“The high level of returning exhibitors is reflective of the great networking opportunity and unique commercial leads offered by Adihex, regionally and internationally,” remarked Al Qubaisi.

'As every other year, the latest edition of Adihex will also see the very latest in hunting, equestrian and outdoor sporting equipments. Additionally, some exhibitors are keen on showcasing bespoke wares, specially designed for connoisseurs from the region.'

Miniature Arsenal, the Moscow-based miniature firearm manufacturer, is exhibiting its entire weapons collection outside Russia for the first time at Adihex.

“Since the establishment of our company in 2005, we have been participating in this expo. It is the ideal occasion to bring the international market attention to the extraordinary collection of historic and contemporary miniature weapons of the company,” said Dimitry Streshinsky, company's founder and owner.

Sweden-based VO Gun & Rifle Maker, the company that produces some of the world’s most exclusive handmade rifles for hunting and collection, will showcase its limited edition of high end weaponry.

“We have designed a special edition of five exclusive rifles called The VO Falcon Edition, as a tribute to the deep rooted hunting traditions in the Arabian world,” said Master Gunsmith Viggo Olsson, founder of VO, a regular exhibitor since 2005.

“The rifles are covered by beautiful engraving of Peregrine falcons and Saker falcons. The five rifles in the edition will be totally unique, individually marked and tied together with small details making them a part of this exclusive limited edition,” he added.

International weaponry distributor, MP3, another loyal Adihex exhibitor, will occupy the largest exhibition space in the weaponry arena, while International Golden Group (IGG), a leading UAE defence product and system supplier, which closed Dh200 million ($54.4 million) deals last year, will be among key exhibitors returning to Adihex.

'This year, we will be displaying 10 of our masterpieces, including Liwa, our latest innovation in the hi-tech rifles category,” said Khamis Hamarain, managing director of MP3 international.

Adihex will also see national pavilions from France, Germany, and Tanzania, which will be exhibiting unique attractions from their respective countries.

The other highlight is a daily quiz competition on Emirate FM in collaboration with ADACH which gives listeners a chance to win a range of prizes.

The grand prize is a buggy, while participants also have an opportunity to win cash prizes of Dh30,000, daggers worth over Dh1500, paintball sessions as well as caricature drawings, the organisers said.-TradeArabia News Service
