Ekotribe launches 2 new eco-gadgets

Dubai, December 28, 2010

Ekotribe, the leading eco-products distributor in the Middle East, has launched two revolutionary eco-gadgets – the Enviroplug and the Waterpebble.

The Enviroplug is an energy saving adapter for mobile phones. It allows one to leave the mobile phone plugged in, safe in the knowledge that once the phone's battery has been fully charged, the plug will stop any further drain of electricity.

Many people leave their phones to charge overnight even though phones are often charged within two hours. Each hour the phone is plugged in after full charge has been achieved, the charger would usually draw 2 watts, whereas the Enviroplug will only draw 0.35 watts an hour. For those that leave the charger constantly plugged in, the amount of energy saved is substantially greater as a charger left plugged in but not connected to a mobile still uses about 24 watts over a 16 hour period. With the Enviroplug this amount is reduced to 0.8 watts in 16 hours.

“The Enviroplug can help save up to 90 per cent of the electricity one would have otherwise consumed through any mobile phone charger. It achieves this due to its ability to cut the power going out of itself and to the device. Likewise, the Waterpebble is a smart device that has an alert system which helps save water consumption while bathing. We are confident that once people start using these devices they will be able to see instant savings in their electricity and water bills, while reducing their carbon footprint,” said Anu Agarwal, director of Ekotribe.

Waterpebble is a clever device that monitors water going down the plug hole
when taking a shower. Memorising the first shower and using it as a benchmark, Waterpebble then indicates, via a series of ‘traffic lights’ flashing gently from green through to red, when to finish showering. Each time one showers, Waterpebble automatically fractionally reduces the shower time – thereby helping save water without needing to think about it.-TradeArabia News Service
