UAE, August 23, 2011

BrazArtis, a Rio de Janeiro based company, along with Saborama, a leading Brazilian manufacturer of refreshment beverages, will launch a new line of fruit-flavour drinks in the Middle East.

These include Acai, Citrus, Guarana, Grape, Catuaba, Gooseberry, Tutti frutti savour concentrates and the award winning Brasil Fruit energy drink.

Saborama offers a wide array of juices, emulsifying flavoured concentrate and syrups, traditional soft drinks and a new line of energy drinks.

Ana Borray, VP of international sales at Saborama, said: “Our expansion into the Middle East coincides with the international expansion. Saborama is a traditional company and we have undertaken a natural growth path, which focuses on the development of specific products that cater to consumer lifestyles and tastes. We are pleased to introduce our fruit flavour concentrates and energy drinks in the Middle East and are looking forward to sharing the taste of Brazilian Super-Fruits in the region.”

Saborama recently launched the ‘Brasil Fruit’ energy drink which is gaining wide popularity on the international market.

The drink was awarded as the Best Energy Drink at the American Food and Beverage Competition in 2009 and has attained 200 percent increase in sales in Brazil.

As part of its rich nutritional content, Brasil Fruit energy drink contains Brazilian ‘Super-Fruits’ extracts including Acai, Guarana and Catuaba.

Brazilian super-fruits are known for their rich dietary and energy supplement comprising antioxidants, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, fibbers, lipids and Omega essential fatty acids.

Acai fruit, also referred to as the ‘Ultimate Super-Food’ or ‘Brazilian Berry’, comes from the rich Brazilian rainforest.

In addition to being a flavoursome berry, Acai is renowned for its nutritional properties and is considered to be one of the most nutritious fruits of the Amazon.

Guarana is a plant from the Amazon that is widely used as a natural energy supplement. It was first introduced by the Amazon natives who used it before going on long journeys to increase their resistance to thirst, heat and fatigue.

It is a powerful stimulant, increasing the resistance of mental and muscular fatigue, boosting body motor system and psyche.

In addition, Saborama has pioneered a line of ‘Diet and Light’ flavour drinks which have been recognized and recommended by the Brazilian National Association of Diabetes Care.

The Middle East is a focal market for Brazilian beverage and food products. In the first quarter of 2011 the sales to the Middle East amounted to nearly $2.5 billion, an increase of 29.6 per cent over the same period in 2010.

In May 2011 Brazil's exports to the Middle East totalled $1.02 billion, an increase of 34 per cent from the same month in 2010. – TradeArabia News Service
