Chopard re-opens concept boutique

Dubai, February 12, 2012

The House of Chopard has announced the re-opening of its new concept-stylised 539 sq ft boutique at the Mall of the Emirates.

The new boutique is located on the second floor and reveals all the hallmarks and attractive attributes of the new design concept of contemporary Chopard boutiques.

The company has six boutiques in Dubai, and this one will be the first bearing the new design concept of Chopard Boutiques, said a statement.

The boutique derives its composition and inspiration from the new Chopard concept that was successfully introduced at the end of 2007, with the opening of a flagship store in New York, 709 Madison Avenue.

The new concept bears the signature of the eminent and celebrated French architect Thierry Despont, the statement said.

Based on the idea that Chopard represents a symbiosis of century-old family traditions and high-tech creations and innovations, Thierry Despont reinterpreted the design codes in a contemporary style, it said.

Despont was the associate architect for the centennial restoration of the Statue of Liberty, and designed the decorative arts galleries of the new John Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles as well as the renovation of the Claridge’s Hotel in London.

The use of fine leather for the wall panels, store fixtures and furniture fronts evoke a sense of luxury, warmth and familiarity. Luscious velvet is used for the curtains and upholstery of chairs for a sense of opulence, the statement said.

Eliminating the destruction of trees, and as a concern for the conservation of the ecology and the environment, renewable woods are being used under this Boutique concept, it said.

Chopard now has 130 boutiques worldwide, in diverse geographical locations such as Geneva, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Beijing, Paris, Dubai, London, New York City and 1,600 points of sales worldwide. – TradeArabia News Service
