Al Ain Dairy wins top award; plans expansion

Al Ain, February 26, 2012

Al Ain Dairy, a leading dairy producer in the UAE which won the coveted BBC Good Food Middle East Award recently, has announced plans for expansion and new products.

The dairy firm was chosen for the award in the fresh milk category at a ceremony hosted by CPI recently, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Dubai.

The last 30 years has seen Al Ain Dairy grow steadily to become the largest dairy manufacturer in the Emirates with production levels in excess of 220,000 litres of fresh milk daily, said a statement.

Consumer satisfaction has been very high with the company reporting a 20 per cent increase in sales on last year, it said.

Commenting on the company’s success at the BBC Good Food Middle East Awards, Kingston Fernandez, head of sales at Al Ain Dairy, said: “We are absolutely thrilled and delighted to receive this award. For the company to be recognized in this way is testament to the dedication and care we take in producing the best quality milk products on the market. Sales have grown steadily and demand is high which tells us that we have a strong brand. But to win this award is especially pleasing because Al Ain Dairy was voted as the favorite by consumers beating off all local and regional competiting brands.”

Much of the success is due in large part to the consistent high quality production standards and efficiency in its cold chain management, he said.

"Ensuring a high quality ultra-fresh product meeting market demands is no mean feat. But it is something that Al Ain Dairy is expert at with its fleet of over 140 vehicles distributing fresh milk daily across the Emirates," Fernandez said.

In recent months, the company has launched many new products including 'Mango Passion' complimenting a unique range of nutritious “Morning Drinks” which was highly commended by the Gulfood 2012 awards judging panel.

Al Ain Dairy will continue the trend of launching new products with a complete range of new camel milk flavours under the “Camelait” brand, soon, said Fernandez.

The company is also renowned for bringing innovative products to market and had won laurels at the Trends & Innovations awards at SIAL last year, as well as the Superbrand Status for 2012. - TradeArabia News Service
