Focus on anti-trafficking co-operation

UAE’s Ministry of Interior, represented by the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking at the Human Rights Department, discussed means to boost co-operation and mutual co-ordination in the anti-trafficking field with the International Association of Women Police.

Colonel Khamis Obeid Al Kaabi, vice chairman of the committee met Jane Townsley, president of IAWP to review the Interior Ministry’s efforts in the field of human rights protection, particularly women and children’s rights and anti-human trafficting, said a statement from the ministry.

Townsley was also briefed on the ministry’s efforts in spreading the human rights culture, the related international reports, and ways to respond to international organisations and bodies in cooperation with concerned parties.

She stressed the importance of reinforcing relations, and exchanging expertise and information between both parties in this field. - TradeArabia News Service
