Top businesswomen in Bahrain honoured

Leading businesswomen in the country were honoured yesterday in a ceremony held at the Ramli Mall.

It was organised by LuLu Hypermarkets to mark International Women's Day in association with Bahrain Businesswomen's Society and supported by HSBC, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The event honoured businesswomen of Bahrain for their role in the kingdom's development and progress and celebrated their success as an example of opportunities the kingdom gives women as stakeholders in the national narrative.

The women who were honoured were Tamkeen's Human Capital Development vice-president Amal Al Kooheji, wife of Indian Ambassador Dr Mohan Kumar and patron of ILA Mala Kumar, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) board member, Al Zayani Commercial Services president and Al Ayam Press, Printing and Publishing director Afnan Al Zayani, Bahrain Businesswomen's Society president and BCCI board member Ahlam Janahi, Bahrain Economic Development Board business development division executive director Vivian Jamal, Al Haddad Motors owner and deputy chairman and BCCI member Deema Al Haddad and popular Bahraini TV personality and Bahrain Television Channel 55 head Ahdeya Ahmed.

It also featured a folk dance from the Indian state of Rajasthan by Neetu Dora and Samridhi Chopra, a glass blower from Chennai, India, in action who created exquisite glass art in front of audiences, a talk by well-known nutritionist Alia Almoayed on women and detoxing for health and an art display by renowned artist Ella Prakash who featured 12 canvases on the topic of women. - TradeArabia News Service
