Qatar-based Consolidated Gulf Company said its Indian subsidiary has won a major contract to supply and install hitech traffic surveillance solutions in the south Indian city of Bengaluru.

As per the deal, CGC Converse Technologies, will provide these solutions which would be linked to a centralised traffic management centre covering all the major hubs in the metro, reported the Peninsula.

The surveillance solution implemented by CGC will help Bangalore Traffic Department in real-time traffic monitoring which in turn will aid in safeguarding the general public by allowing authorities to deploy emergency response units more efficiently and effectively, the report added.

CGC general manager Nitin Ghuliani said: "As part of our international expansion initiative, we are thrilled to have won this key project in the Silicon Valley of India."
