Yas Island has showcased its world class leisure, entertainment and business offering to nearly 90 top-tier travel industry professionals from China.

The full-day tour is part of a major summit to build on the current steep growth in tourists and business travellers from China to the UAE, a statement said.

With April 2014 figures showing growth in the number of guests from China at 309 per cent up on the same month in the previous year, it is apparent that tourism from China is playing a part in the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority’s (TCA) results, it said.

The Chinese visitor summit, which opened recently, will run till August 28.

The tour of Yas Island commenced with a welcome at Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi and included stops at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the Formula 1 track at Yas Marina Circuit, home to the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi grand prix, and Yas Links Abu Dhabi, the statement said.

“Yas Island is an amazing destination because it’s a one-stop shop for our needs,” said Xu Yuanyuan of Shanghai, The Yue Club. “Our clients are entrepreneurs and would find Yas Island the perfect place to meet their demands related to both business and leisure.”
