Chevrolet's Aveo5 hits Mideast roads

Dubai, July 24, 2008

The all-new Chevrolet Aveo5 is now on sale in showrooms across the Middle East.

Featuring sporty new looks, the Aveo5 delivers a dynamic driving experience in a stylish and value-packed package, the company said.

"Like all Chevrolets, the new Aveo5 stands out by offering expressive styling, excellent value for money, and advanced safety features," it said.

"A new variant added to the existing Aveo family, the Aveo5 was designed and engineered with young and first time buyers in mind," it added.

"The Aveo5 is a funky small car that is fun to drive and boasts excellent value. With its surprisingly roomy interior, the best-in-class rear legroom and extremely striking exterior, the Aveo5 feels great when driving," said Fadi Ghosn, marketing director, General Motors, Middle East operations.

The Aveo5 exterior design has been refined and is eye-catching, especially the flow of the body lines from the bonnet to the A-pillar. Up front, the Aveo5 has the new global face of Chevrolet, characterised by a big horizontally split radiator grille with a body-coloured crossbeam and the bow-tie logo sitting prominently in the centre. The detailing includes large, curved, clear-glass headlamps and fog lamps.

The Aveo5 is powered by a 1.4 litre engine, which delivers 103 hp @ 6200 rpm and a maximum torque of 130 Nm at 3400 rpm and it is available with either the 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission. The manual transmission version of the Aveo5 consumes an average between city and highway driving of 6.8 litres of fuel every 100 Km while the automatic version uses 7.1 litres per 100 km. - TradeArabia News Service
