Motor Show boost for automotive industry

Manama, December 3, 2013

Bahrain's automotive industry will be given a boost by the fourth Bahrain International Motor Show (BIMS) next week, according to organisers.

BIMS chief executive Wassim Sami Farhoud said a wide range of car companies will be exhibiting their latest models at the event, to be held at the Bahrain International Circuit from December 12 to 14, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

"We aim to contribute to an increase in trade and commerce by supporting all sectors of the industry," he said.

"With every edition of the show we have witnessed a significant increase in sales for the participating exhibitors, and this year we have expanded to include even more brands and businesses."

As well as the latest models, concept cars, supercars, vintage and classic cars, this year's BIMS will also feature the first Bahrain International Motor Bike Show and an expanded commercial vehicle section designed to add value for local businesses, added Farhoud.

The McLaren 50 12C Spider will be also displayed by McLaren’s Bahrain retail partner, Al Ghassan Motorsat at the show.

The commemorative model, strictly limited to a maximum of 100 globally, split between just 50 examples of the 12C and 50 of the 12C Spider, was unveiled earlier this year to mark the 50th anniversary of McLaren.

Ian Gorsuch, McLaren Automotive regional director for Middle East and Africa, said: “The McLaren 50 12C Spider on display at the show encapsulates the modern-day McLaren, with its groundbreaking and innovative technology. This special edition has exclusive features and this version of the supercar will be an ultra-rare sight on the roads of Bahrain.”

Tickets for the show are on sale at Batelco City Centre, Virgin Megastore and online. - TradeArabia News Service
