Bahrain F1 boost to businesses in spotlight

Manama, April 3, 2014

International business leaders will take part in a series of networking events during this weekend's Formula One race in Bahrain.

The 'Business in Formula 1' will feature panel discussions with key figures from Bahrain's private and public sector, who will demonstrate Bahrain's unique positioning as the gateway to the GCC market, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

It is being organised by the Economic Development Board (EDB) and Formula One at the Bahrain International Circuit's (BIC) F1 Paddock Club.

Speakers taking part include Transportation Minister and EDB acting chief executive Kamal Ahmed, Williams Grand Prix deputy team principal Claire Williams, VMotion managing director Ala'a Al Shaikh and McLaren Automotive chief executive Mike Flewitt.

They will discuss several topics during the three-day event, including the business of F1 and Bahrain's growing influence in the automotive and engineering sectors.

"Bahrain's enthusiasm to find new ways of underlining the values that the sport provides to business has been at the forefront of their innovation in the last decade," said F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone.

The Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix will start tomorrow (April 4) at the BIC in Sakhir with the main race taking place on Sunday (April 6). - TradeArabia News Service
