Infiniti unveils big Saudi expansion plans

Jeddah, April 9, 2014

Infiniti has outlined its commitment to delivering its premium brand promise to customers in Saudi Arabia through an expanded dealer network of hitech sales centres.

The entire Infiniti performance range will be backed by full genuine parts availability and highly-trained technicians, said Al Ghassan Motors, a strategic partner to the brand in the Kingdom.

Francois Goupil de Bouillé, the VP (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) said: "Infiniti is entering an exciting and new phase of its future as it commits to building a global brand. Saudi Arabia is instrumental for our plans in the region and therefore globally."

“We welcome Al Ghassan Motors onboard to join the Infiniti journey,” he added.

“Our market share in the Middle East is the third highest for the brand globally - that alone reflects the importance of this market to Infiniti,” said Samir Cherfan, the managing director of NMEF.

"The region was the first market outside of North America to launch the brand, to introduce its signature IREDI Infiniti Centre design concept, and offer Infiniti’s full performance line up which includes a compelling range of SUV models," he stated.

“That combination has allowed us to steadily grow into our current strong position in the Middle East but, to realize our ambitions, we will strengthen our position in the influential market of Saudi Arabia. By the end of fiscal year 2016 we forecast over 20 per cent of our regional sales will come from the Kingdom which will contribute to Infiniti’s regional market share rising from around five percent today to at least seven percent," he added.

Juergen Schmitz, the general manager, Infiniti in the Middle East, said: “The customer is at the very centre of our plan for strengthening our position in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Infiniti’s representatives will be of the highest global standards, and our IREDI facilities fully furnished with the right equipment and genuine Infiniti parts."

"When we introduce new models, they will arrive in Infiniti Centres here at the same time as all other Middle Eastern markets, such as Infiniti Q50 which we unveil today," he noted.

According to him, by the year-end the company will be able to reach around 80 per cent of premium buyers in the Kingdom with the opening of its additional Infiniti Centres in Khobar and Riyadh.

"That will create the foundation for us to grow our market share from below one percent today to over seven percent by end of fiscal year 2016. To deliver this, we have a trusted partner in Al Ghassan Motors with a proven track record of success in the luxury automotive marketplace. We believe it’s time for Infiniti in Saudi Arabia.”

"Al Ghassan Motors is one of the leading luxury automotive retailers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a history of success," said its president Sheikh Ghassan A H Al Sulaiman.

"Our delivery of excellent service to meet the requirements of the most distinguished clientele extends beyond our region into Europe where we meet and exceed the most competitive of standards. We are proud to become part of the Infiniti global network and are committed to achieving our shared ambitions for our valued customers in the Kingdom," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
