2014 Yukon Denali XL

GMC sales up 24pc in UAE for Q1

Dubai, April 27, 2014

GMC has reported a 24 per cent growth in sales in the UAE for the first quarter (Q1) of the year when compared with the same period last year.

The overall increase was driven by particularly high growth from the brand’s SUVs, a statement said.

In Q1, UAE GMC dealers sold twice as many Yukon and Yukon Denalis as they did in Q1 2013. There was also 40 per cent growth for its larger counterpart, the Yukon XL and Yukon XL Denali.

The Sierra pickup and fleet sales of the Savana van were also key contributors to the quarterly performance.

The introduction of the new-look, next generation of GMCs is expected to boost sales and growth even further, according to Nadim Ghrayeb, regional brand manager for GMC.

“There are big developments on the horizon for GMC. The 2015 Sierra heavy duty model is about to hit the showroom floor in May and the anticipation and excitement for the all-new Yukons is palpable,” he said.

The 2015 Yukon and Yukon XL (including the Denali models) will be launched in July, he added.

“The new look 2015 lineup is true to GMC’s ‘commands respect’ tagline. They’re strong and highly capable but also offer all the features and comforts that our customers demand,” Ghrayeb concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
