Dolphin loads first cargo of condensate exports

Dubai, August 12, 2007

Dolphin Energy has loaded its first 500,000 barrel cargo of condensate produced from its natural gas processing plant in Qatar, Dolphin said in a statement on Sunday.

The United Arab Emirates' Dolphin will export another two cargoes in August, to take the total for the month to three cargoes.

Dolphin started up its natural gas processing facilities at Qatar's giant North Field in June.

The condensate is a high-value by-product from the company's operation to extract Qatar's gas, process it and import it to the UAE.

Dolphin aims to import 2 billion cubic feet per day of Qatari gas by early next year. When full production is reached, Dolphin expects to export six cargoes a month of condensates.

Mubadala Development Co owns 51 percent of Dolphin, while Total and Occidental each has a 24.5 percent stake. - Reuters
