South Korea's Daewoo Engineering and Construction Company signed a 6.6 million rials ($17.1 million) contract to build a fuel storage tank for a refinery in Oman, a tender board official said.

'The contract is for an additional fuel tank at the Mina Al Fahal refinery,' the tender official told Reuters.

The Mina Al Fahal refinery in Muscat has a capacity to process about 85,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil.

 The other refinery located at Sohar has a production capacity of 116,000 bpd.

Oman has already issued tenders to update and expand both refineries that included the replacement of pipelines, a heat exchanger and installation of a catalyst.-Reuters
