Bapco exceeds crude target for 2011

Manama, January 5, 2012

Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) has exceeded its planned crude throughput target for 2011 set at the beginning of the year despite some interruptions to operation during the unrest in February and March.

It also recorded the highest monthly average crude run of 271,300 barrels per day in November.

"This is all a tremendous achievement, which is a testament to the hard work and diligence of all Bapco staff and contractors, in ensuring that the refinery processed safely the maximum possible crude rate," chief executive Gordon Smith said.

"We take great pride in this achievement which reflects the dedication of our employees and contractors," he said.

"We realise the importance of the Bapco refinery to the national economy. We will continue to strive for excellence in meeting our targets and maximising revenues for Bahrain," he added. – TradeArabia News Service
