Tatweer opens light oil plant in Bahrain

Bahrain Finance Minister and Minister in charge of Oil and Gas Affairs Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa  inaugurated the new Light Oil Steam Flood Plant at the Bahrain Field.

He was accompanied by Tatweer board members and executive management, and Bahrain National Gas Company president Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa during the visit to the Bahrain field.

The visit reviewed many projects including the newly-constructed field office block, compression unit RC 3, Tank Battery 8 and a high pressure pumping station, reported the Gulf daily News, our sister publication.

Shaikh Ahmed was later briefed about the plant's operation which aims to maximise the recovery of oil from the Mauddod formation.

The minister also visited the new state-of-the-art electrical substation, which was recently energised as part of the necessary electricity infrastructure to handle the increase in oil production from the Bahrain Field.

The minister hailed the tremendous efforts Tatweer is making and the huge investment made by the shareholders in developing the field to increase oil and gas production and preserve the natural resources and protect the environment in Bahrain.-TradeArabia News Service
