Bapco in record crude production

Manama, January 9, 2013

Bahrain Petroleum (Bapco) refinery's crude run last year exceeded its annual business plan by 1.83 million barrels a year, having achieved a 262,400 barrels per day production record.

This was reached in spite of the planned shutdown of two crude units in October for major maintenance and inspection and slowdown of various crude units for essential repairs during the year, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

This demonstrates the reliability of the refinery process units and the high level of dedication, professionalism and performance of the Bapco workforce, which ensured that the refinery processed safely the maximum possible crude rate.

"We take pride in this achievement which reflects the dedication of our employees and contractors," said Bapco chief executive Gordon Smith.

"We fully realise the importance of the Bapco refinery to the national economy, and will continue to strive for excellence in meeting our targets and maximising revenues for Bahrain," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
