Adipec awards extends deadline
Abu Dhabi, August 21, 2013
The Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (Adipec) Awards has extended its entries submission deadline to August 29.
The annual awards recognise excellence in energy across the Mena region and is hosted by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc).
Under the categories of Best Gas and Oil Project, Best Gas and Oil Innovation or Technology, Best Gas and Oil HSE Project and Best CSR Initiative, a number of submissions are being received from across the region and internationally, including Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain, said a statement.
Adipec added two new categories - the Empowerment of Women in Gas and Oil category and Young Adipec Engineer category – to recognise the value of diversity and strengthening women’s participation, and to nurture future leaders and innovators respectively.
Mohammed A Sahoo Al Suwaidi, director, Gas Directorate and Adnoc chairman, said: “These awards set the benchmark for vision, innovation and pioneering execution in the regional hydrocarbon industry. They also ensure the sustained growth of innovation year after year.”
“This deadline extension guarantees that those that may otherwise have missed the impending cut-off can now secure their participation in what promises to be one of the most distinguished industry recognitions,” said Al Suwaidi.
To support the emphasis on women in the gas and oil industry, this year’s jury features five female panelists, said the statement.
The judging panel will deliver their independent evaluations by October 1 and convene for final deliberation and select the winners of this year’s awards, who will be honoured at the ceremony to be hosted at the Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi on November 10, it said. - TradeArabia News Service
