KPMG set for Abu Dhabi energy event

Abu Dhabi, September 24, 2013

Leading professional services advisory firm KPMG is set to host its third annual energy conference titled "Unconventional - Shaping the Future of GCC Energy?" in Abu Dhabi next month.

The third KPMG Annual GCC Energy Conference will be held at the St Regis Hotel, Nation Towers, Abu Dhabi on October 1 under the patronage of UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.

Last year's conference was highly successful and was attended by more than 170 key dignitaries from private, government and the oil and gas sectors across the region, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

As with the two previous years, the full-day conference will cover a wide array of topics shown to be impacting the global and regional oil and gas industry.

KPMG global head of advisory, energy and natural resources Hilda Mulock Houwer, who's the conference chairperson, said the programme consists of sessions on strategic, financial, operational, and environmental issues that are influencing the energy sector.

"Anyone working in the oil and gas industry will greatly benefit from attending the conference as the event provides great opportunities to interact with people from different fields in the oil and gas sector as well as industry leaders and experts," she stated.

Some of the topics that will be discussed on the day include an opening address from Wood Mackenzie head of oils research Alan Gelder, and a panel discussion on the "Impact of Unconventional Energy on the Middle East" with participants from Petroleum Development Oman, Arab Petroleum Investments Corporation and RasGas.

UK-based KPMG global chairman of energy and natural resources Michiel Soeting will also give his annual update on the topic of "Energy and Natural Resources Outlook".

There is also a panel session on talent management in the oil and gas industry titled "A Question of Talent: Getting the Balance Right" followed by interactive breakout sessions on "Cyber Security for Oil and Gas" and "Major Projects: Making the Most of the Capital".-TradeArabia News Service
