New projects to boost power network in Bahrain

Bahrain has launched projects aiming to boost and expand the power distribution network worth BD20.7 million ($54.7 million), said a top government official.

The projects include the construction and operation of 11 main transmission stations, setting up of 180 new distribution sub-stations across the country and execution of related projects costing BD16.4 million, Minister of State for Electricity and Water Affairs Dr Abdulhussain Mirza was quoted as saying in the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

The  authority has also allocated BD4.3 million to upgrade 430 low voltage electrical sub-networks in addition to BD7.5 million for maintenance projects, he said. – TradeArabia News Service
