Empower gets key US certification for third Dubai plant

DUBAI, March 16, 2017

UAE-based Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) said it has achieved Leed (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification from the US Green Building Council for its third cooling plant located at Business Bay in Dubai.

Empower's third plant getting this certificate shows the company’s commitment to adopt most stringent sustainability policy implemented in the cooling services industry, remarked ist CEO Ahmad Bin Shafar.

"We are really pleased by achieving this gold certification which comes from a prestigious authority like the the US Green Building Council. This certification will motivate us to put more efforts to guarantee that all of our future projects are compatible with international standards," he noted.

This is not the first time Empower receives the gold certification from the US Green Building Council where it has received this certification earlier for its second business bay plant and for its warehouses in Al Qouz, which show its pioneering leadership in the green buildings field, he added.

Bin Shafar said the concept of green buildings was a crucial part of Empower’s operational policy.

"In our projects as in all our plants, we make sure to use technologies that reduce energy and water consumption. We lead by example by promoting sustainable development and green economy. Our strategy for the upcoming years is to further enhance the efficient use of eco-friendly technologies," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
