Old airport, new park
, May 20, 2013
People cycle on the tracks of Quito's Old Mariscal Sucre International Airport, in Tababela on May 19. Over a hundred thousand people have visited the former airport every weekend for sports and recreational activities ever since the Ecuadoran city turned it into an 126-acre city park, Quito's mayor said. The old airport is now the biggest urban park in Quito after air transport operations shifted to a new airport two weeks ago. Reuters/Guillermo Granja
