HSBC, Spinneys extend ties with Air Miles

Dubai:, January 20, 2008

HSBC and Spinneys have strengthened their relationships with Air Miles by signing five-year extension.

With Global banking conglomerate HSBC and UAE’s major supermarket chain Spinneys prolonging their partnership with Air Miles, their customers will continue to earn Air Miles on all their transactions and enjoy a wide range of rewards, the company said in a statement.

“We have worked with Air Miles very successfully for the past seven years and the benefits it has provided us are self-evident. HSBC has reported a very healthy increase in spend levels together with significant new customers, since partnering with Air Miles,’ Lester Wynne Jones, head of Personal Financial Services, HSBC said.

HSBC credit card users are automatically enrolled into the Air Miles programme when they receive their cards. They are given Air Miles for every credit card purchase worldwide.

“We have experienced first hand the popularity of Air Miles with our customers. They value the added benefits the programme offers which help ensure that their banking experiences are second to none and it is clear from the data available that they value the rewards they can collect,” he added.

“Air Miles gives us a clear advantage with our customers over our competitors and rewards them for their loyalty in shopping with us,” said Spinneys CEO Jannie Holtzhausen.

Air Miles Middle East CEO Dave Battiston said HSBC and Spinney’s results were a testament to the benefits its award-winning loyalty programme delivers.

“We stand by our track record of profitably changing our customers’ shopping behaviour by offering rewards that help members make the most of their daily spend,” he said. “Through these partnerships we will continue to provide card-holders an unparalleled shopping experience. It only goes to reinforce our position as the leading shopping loyalty programme in the region and is outward recognition of the benefits Air Miles can bring.”

Air Miles Middle East operates across the UAE, Bahrain and Qatar and already has over 1.4 million members. The free-to-join programme with over 100 market-leading participants including Damas, Lamcy Plaza, Al Rostamani Travel and Holidays, Royal & Sun Alliance, Pan Emirates Home Furnishing, Al Ansari Exchange, Bin Sina Pharmacy and Adidas among others has come a long way since its launch seven years ago. – TradeArabia News Service
