Bahrain motorists urged to use Jayyid petrol

Manama, May 26, 2011

Motorists in Bahrain are being urged to fill up their cars with Jayyid petrol to save money.

A new link on the Bahrain e-Government website lets people decide what fuel is best for their vehicle.

'The enhanced Jayyid fuel available in Bahrain now makes it more combustible and with less wax and carbon deposits on engines,' said Energy Minister Dr Abdulhussain Mirza.

'People should switch to its use instead of repeatedly going in for Mumtaz. The link on the website will help people decide what fuel is best suited for their vehicles.'

The 95 Octane Mumtaz costs 100 fils per litre and the 91 Octane Jayyid only 80 fils. Bapco chief executive Faisal Al Mahroos announced in January the company was preparing to produce enhanced quality Jayyid. He said producing the project was part of a Bapco plan to introduce cleaner and greener fuels.

Al Mahroos said at least 60 per cent of Bahrain's vehicles would be able to use the enhanced Jayyid fuel without complications.-TradeArabia News Service
