Toys R Us, the world’s favourite toy retailer, today opened its new store at the popular Deira City Centre shopping mall, its sixth in the UAE and 13th across the Mena region.

Later this month the Al-Futtaim Group company will also open its new store at Sharjah City Centre, a company statement said.

Troy Zunckel, general manager of Toys R Us was joined by the Toys R Us team and popular children’s characters including Geoffrey the Giraffe, Shrek, Modhesh, Johnny Bravo and the Mario Bros at the ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the new store.

The new store, which is over 16,000 sq ft, stocks thousands of quality toys for boys and girls, the latest and hottest games, educational and developmental toys, sporting goods, electronics, software and baby products, a statement said.

The DCC store also stocks products from Toys R Us exclusive brands such as Bruin, Animal Alley, You & Me, Pavilion and Fast Lane among others.

The Babies R Us section offers a wide selection of products for newborns and infants, including clothing, cribs, furniture, car seats, strollers, high chairs, plush, safety gates, infant and pre-school toys, feeding accessories and more, the statement added.

“We are delighted to open the new Toys R Us and Babies R Us store at Deira City Centre, one of the most popular shopping destinations in the city,” Zunckel said.

“We look forward to offering parents excellent value in a one-stop shopping experience that includes the widest collection of toys and games for kids of all ages and a great selection of baby products.”

“The new store has the most up-to-date games, learning material and all the traditional favourites – everything you would expect of the premier children’s store in the region,” he added.
